I know I’ve mentioned this before…I love babies! I love everything baby; I even like kittens, which is saying a lot since I really don’t like cats all that much. Living on a farm, I’ve been privileged (if you know me at all, you would know that “privileged” is my nice word for it) to own some sheep and goats, among other animals. Every year since we’ve lived on this farm, we have raised “bummer lambs” (lambs that were rejected by their mothers for some reason and you have to then either try to get another mother to accept them or bottle feed them yourself)…except for this year. We decided not to raise anymore bummers, which I am very happy about…until I see a little baby lamb or goat. Then, my love for babies kick in and I momentarily lose my senses and think I’d like one! Lol! So, you can say I have a soft spot in my heart for all things baby. 🙂
When Baby G showed up at my studio, I had the same sort of reaction. Because of his sweet and happy nature, I once again yearned for a little one of my own. Baby G was all smiles the entire time we were shooting! And the main source of his smile was Mommy…and then Grandma. I love capturing the interactions between mommies and their children, just priceless! There’s just something innate about the connection that a baby has with his/her mom…I believe it’s one of the most powerful forces in the universe. I think that’s what I miss the most. I guess that’s why I love to photograph babies…it brings that connection right back whenever I’m around it.
