Today, I want to showcase two beautiful women that I had the pleasure of meeting last month. Not only are these two women gorgeous on the outside, their hearts are just larger than life! Why, you might ask? Because in January 2006, 13-year-old Staci was diagnosed with cancer. Through her trials with and struggles through chemo, Staci’s heart grew beyond her current situation and she was able to look outward and become selfless. Together Staci and her mom, Deborah founded the Angel Hair Foundation. The following paragraphs are taken directly from their website, explaining what Angel Hair Foundation is and does.
“Angel Hair Foundation is a private, non-profit corporation that reaches out to kids in Oregon who have lost their hair due to medical illness. The foundation provides the funding needed to purchase “Angel Hair Systems” for kids and teens. Our goal is to help children who deal with social acceptance issues because of physical appearances, specifically hair loss. We are committed to improving the quality of life for these children by helping them regain their positive self-image.
Angel Hair Foundation founder, Staci Wright, is a cancer survivor herself. Angel Hair Systems are available to all kids and teens who live or are treated in Oregon, thanks to Staci.”
Each cranial prosthesis costs about $1500 per system. As you can imagine, many families could not afford the hair system, especially if medical bills were looming. Angel Hair Foundation provides cranial prostheses (Angel Hair Systems) free to kids and teens that are suffering from hair loss.
So, as year’s end approaches, this is your opportunity to think about helping a worthy cause. For more information, please visit the Angel Hair Foundation website.
